2nd International Micro Finance Conference
August 28, 2008 - Marriott Islamabad.
We are pleased to inform you that the 2nd International Micro Finance Conference
2008 (www.shamrockconferences.net)
with a special emphasis on 'Challenges & Opportunities' is scheduled for August
28th , 2008 at the Islamabad Marriott Hotel, with participation expected from
delegates representing Pakistani and foreign organizations/institutions.
For developing countries like Pakistan, whose 25% of 160 mn population is living
below the poverty line, micro finance plays pivotal role in reducing the same.
Unfortunately the national focus remains on macro economic and social
achievements, our concentration is lacking in more serious issues of poverty in
the country. Thus, while 6 mn people require financial assistance & only 5% of
it have been served. It is the biggest challenge for institutions to improve
outreach in effective and efficient manner.
The day-night conference will include five (5) highly interactive Sessions,
ranging from outreach policy formulation to issues critical to the industry.
Eminent speakers and practitioners from government, trade and international
bodies will present their papers which will be chaired by distinguished
personalities. A special session 'The Speakers' Panel Discussion' will conclude
the Conference with recommendations that will be shared with both the government
and media.
